The Missions Finance Team (MFT) of the church has selected the organizations to receive the money from this year’s Christmas Offering. Every year we take a special offering between now and Christmas with 100% of the money designated to this campaign given directly to the charities that were selected. The MFT is a group of church volunteers who spend time going through all of the applicants and narrowing it down to the 3/4 groups to receive money. This year’s recipients are:

Southwest Colorado Cancer Coalition, which will provide funds to help cancer patients travel to various appointments and treatments outside of the area.

The Community Treehouse in Bayfield, which will add an extra day of childcare for parents who are working from home and need a space to come and work uninterrupted and have someone watch their young children while they are doing this.

International Treasure House, which is a non-profit in Kenya we have partnered with for many years and that houses children who have been orphaned or abandoned and are now being cared for at the house. These funds will help purchase a van to transport the children to appointments and to school and will be matched by another donor.

The Veterans Outreach Center in Durango has been chosen and will use the money to operate the services they provide to veterans on an all-volunteer basis.

You may give via writing a check to the church and list Christmas Offering on the memo line, drop cash in one of the boxes in the atrium and place inside a special Christmas Offering envelope located in the back of the church, or give with a bank debit or a credit card via our online portal. If you note Christmas Offering > General Christmas Offering it will be split four ways, but you may also designate one (or more) of the chosen organizations to receive your contribution. We will be showing short videos of each non-profit during worship services in December and the videos will also be posted to our Christmas page. Please talk to the front office if you have any questions. Thanks for being caring and generous to our community and the world. Our typical offering receives around $100,000 each year.
