Habitat for Humanity, La Plata County builds two homes per year for low income households. The Hammers Club was founded by members of Summit Church several years ago to assist with that effort, providing a steady flow of volunteers throughout the build. Individuals generally volunteer one to two days per week, starting with the foundation, and continuing with framing, roofing, siding, sheetrock and other interior finishes. If you are interested, there are several church members who can better describe their efforts, including Curt Johnson, Glenn Bultmann, Mike Montgomery, Brian Van Sickle Lee Emschuid and Tami Joslin.
