Part of the Next Gen Initiative from the Unstuck process has been looking at the physical spaces of the church to assess their effectiveness to deliver outstanding ministries that would appeal to children, youth, adults, and families. One of the biggest areas needing to be reworked was the kitchen as it has received fairly limited attention for many years other than new floors about 10 years ago. A small group of members: Jenny Wickett, Jaime Marquez, Jen Peterson, Erin Hamlin, Luis Marquez, and Robb Bourdon, have been meeting with an Architect over the past couple of months to devise a layout that will be kid and adult friendly, while staying within the budget for the project. The church Directional Team approved the final concept and funding at their meeting on August 16th and sending the project out for bid is the next step. We are hopeful the work can be done as soon as possible, but if it looks like it might interfere with Christmas and the weeks leading up to that, it will wait until January. We will have drawings available for you see in the church atrium sometime in the next few weeks. The primary users of the kitchen were kept apprised of the process and their input was included in the decision making. If you have any questions, please reach out to Robb in the church office at 970-247-4213.
