March is not the typical time to be thinking about Operation Christmas Child, but it is a GREAT time to start packing shoeboxes!
Here are some packing tips from your Summit Operation Christmas Child Committee:
– Check clearance racks for deals on last season’s toys and clothing wherever you shop!
– In the days immediately following Easter, and other holidays, stuffed animals and other seasonal toys are frequently on-sale for deeply discounted prices.
– When you buy school supplies for your child or his/her classroom, buy an extra item or 2 for your box(es).
– For those of you who are gifted crafters, now is the time to start making items for your box(es). Stay tuned next month for ideas about things to make!
– Did you know that Amazon has a page dedicated to OCC for purchasing items in bulk? Check out the OCC Amazon Storefront:
https://www.amazon.com/shop/operationchristmaschild

Doing a little bit along the way and purchasing items on sale is bound to make Shoebox packing season easier, less stressful, and less of a financial burden. You may find that you can even pack an extra shoebox this year with the items you have accumulated along the way.

If you are interested in doing more than just packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, please consider joining our committee to help plan for the upcoming shoebox packing season. Contact Erin Hamlin for more information at 970-946-1096 or lance00erin@aol.com.
