Welcome to Summit Students!
Summit Students is the youth ministry at Summit Church for students in 6th-12th grade. Here, we hang out, make new friends, and develop our relationship with God and each other through messages, small group time, and serving one another and our community.
Middle School Gatherings
6th – 8th Graders
Join us for food, fellowship, games, worship and a lesson! We meet every Sunday from 10:30am-11:30am for Sunday School, and Wednesdays 4:00pm-6:00pm for youth group. Students are encouraged to bring friends and bring their Bibles. Click the button below to join the Middle School Parents Group in Church Center – this is the best way to receive information and stay connected! You can also sign your student up to be picked up after school on Wednesdays by the Youth Group Shuttle.
High School Gatherings
9th – 12th Graders
Join us for food, fellowship, games, worship and a lesson! We meet every Wednesday from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Students are encouraged to bring friends and bring their Bibles. Your student’s safety is one of our top priorities! We ensure that every volunteer has completed Safe Gatherings training which includes a background and reference checks. Summit Students goes to great lengths to ensure that this is a safe environment and an enjoyable place for your student to experience the love of Christ.
Next Gen Director
Kelsey Scott has been attending Summit Church since her freshman year at Fort Lewis College in 2015. She was involved in our College Ministry while at the Fort, and then was connected with volunteering in our youth group until she graduated in 2019. Kelsey has been a part of the staff at Summit since 2021 and has a passion for helping teens grow their faith and their friendships. She is married to Nathan Scott, and they have one wonderful daughter. Nathan helps lead worship from time to time so you might recognize him as well. In her free time she likes to spend time with her family, ski, and paint!
Next Gen Assistant
Jeremy is originally from the Atlanta area and has moved to Durango 3 times! He married into a longtime local family, and he and his wife Darby of 15 years have 3 children from early elementary to high school aged. He has worked with youth of all ages on-and-off since he was in high school, both in a professional and volunteer capacity. He has been an active volunteer in the Next Gen ministry at Summit for a few years now and is excited to step into a new role as an official Next Gen assistant. In his “down” time, Jeremy is an Independent Real Estate Agent and is looking forward to continuing that business while getting to spend more time at Summit Church and ministering to our Next Gen(eration) of youth!
