FAQs

What Should I Wear?

There is no dress code at Summit Church. Just be yourself.  We are casual and laid back!  Come in your jeans, shorts, slacks, or suits.  You will not be judged by what you wear when you come to our church.

What about my kids?

All childcare and Sunday School programs offered for children are free.

Saturday-5:30PM, Sunday-9:00AM and 10:30AM
Children sign in at the Child Check-in Station by the family entrance doors.

Sunday-11:55AM

Childcare is not provided for this service. However, our Nursery and Family Room are available for your personal use during the service. Please do not leave children unattended.

Children staying in the service

If you as a family wish to remain in the Sanctuary together, there are Pew Packets available to occupy fidgety hands. Ushers are available to assist you with this option.

For more information, please visit this page.

You can also contact Ashleigh, our Director of Children and Family Ministries, at the church office or via her e-mail address: ashleigh@summitdurango.org

Welcome Center

When you arrive, we encourage you to let a team member know that you are new so that we can give you the grand tour and answer any questions that you may have. Grab a cup of coffee or tea from the Sending Grounds Coffee Shop and make yourself comfortable as you wait for our service to begin.

What To Expect

Summit Church offers a welcoming environment for both the long-time attendee and the first-time guest.  There are four worship services to choose from each weekend with the 5:30pm Saturday, and 9:00am and 10:30 services on Sunday being led in music by the Praise Band.  If you would prefer more of a traditional setting, please join us for our 11:55am classic service with hymns, organ, piano, and chancel choir.

There are also Sunday School, Bible Study, and other enrichment classes offered for adults throughout the week.  Some of the courses will be short-term in nature, up to 13 weeks, while others may go the entire year or beyond.  Summit Church follows the Methodist doctrine and has recently adopted a value statement of Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors.  Anyone is welcome to join us and experience the power of Christ in a non-threatening setting.

Summit Basecamp

Summit Basecamp is a class that exists to help you find your next step here at Summit Church. Whether you have been at Summit for a week or a year, we all have a next step. Summit Basecamp is a great place to connect with other people in the church and get to hear from the staff on all our different ministry areas, as well as learn more about Summit Church. We would love to have you at Summit Basecamp and help you find your next step. Click here to RSVP for the next Summit Basecamp.
