Every year the church office gets approached by church members about ideas for end of the year giving options, whether it is thoughts on where they could direct a specific tithe or how they can contribute from certain retirement accounts like an IRA or a Donor Advised Fund. We have answers for both of those scenarios and are always happy to visit with you and talk. An example might be a Required Minimum Distribution from an IRA. Once you reach a certain age, you are required to take money out of your IRA and it is then taxed. If you chose to direct it to a charity, whether it is the church or somewhere else, you can avoid paying some, or all, of those taxes depending on how much you give. And, you may get a deduction for your donation as well. Check in with the church office on this, or any other questions you may have, and we can help out or find someone who can help you. The church is also set up to accept donations of stocks and mutual funds if that is of interest to anyone.
