Dear Summit Students and Kids families,

As many of you know, Ashleigh Ewing, the Children’s Ministry Director, is stepping out of her role at the end of September to focus on her family and to step into a new role at Axis Health System connected to her Master of Social Work program she’s been pursuing. I know many of you are wondering what is next for our Summit Kids Ministry.

I wanted to take a minute to let you know the direction we will be going. In 2021 we started working with a coach from Unstuck Church named Amy Anderson. Part of the work we did with Amy back in 2021 consisted of a staffing restructure that included future staffing recommendations. Amy has proposed to us that due to the growth we’ve seen at Summit Church over the past four years, this would be a good time for us to move into phase 2 of our staff restructure plan by having someone on our staff overseeing all our Next Gen ministries that includes 0-18 years old. Our church leadership is in agreement that now is a good time to restructure our staff for continued growth in the Next Gen ministries. We want you to be in the loop of where we are currently and where we are going moving forward.

I, Kelsey Scott, will be stepping up as the new Next Gen Ministries Director. I will be overseeing 0–18-year-olds. I will be considered a player/coach who will still lead Summit Students but also raise up staff and leaders to help with Summit Kids as well, being the primary champion responsible for the Next Gen Big Picture. The Summit Kids and Summit Students Lead teams will be big players in this transition, and we will be meeting soon with Pastor Jeff to figure out any additional staffing needs (paid & volunteer) that we’ll need to get filled in the coming weeks to staff for future growth in the Next Gen ministries at Summit. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

I am very excited to see where the Next Gen ministries within our church will go and where the Lord will take us. We ask that everyone come alongside us in prayer for where we are going and in celebration for all Ashleigh has done for this ministry.
Blessings,
Kelsey Scott
Next Gen Ministry Director
